先日ファッション業界は、Virgil Ablohの突然の訃報により悲しみに包まれた。そして、Louis VuittonやOff Whiteは今後はどうなるのかという話題が上がっていた。そんな中、Kanye WestがVirgilの後を継ぎクリエイティブディレクターになるという噂が浮上した。Kanyeは、ファッションについての学歴はないが、Virgilと共にFENDIでインターンシップを経験、また 過去にLouis Vuittonとコラボレーションを行なっている。YEEZYラインでの成功や、新鋭ブランドの発掘、アーカイブブームなどKanyeの審美眼は高く評価されており、メゾンのバックアップがあればコレクション制作も不可能ではないだろう。 もし実現すれば話題性も含めて面白いことになるのではないだろうか?
YEの他にもMartin RoseやKid Superなど多くのデザイナーの名前が上がったがついにLouis Vuittonが時期Creative Directorを発表した。Virgilの後を継ぐのは、BBCなどでお馴染みのラッパーのPharrell Williamsだ。彼のファッション性は元々高く評価されており、CHANELとのコラボレーションコレクションなどを過去に発表している。Pharellによるコレクションは、6月にパリで公開される。(2/15更新)

今年2月に新たなメンズ・クリエイティブ・ディレクターとしてPharrell Williamsを迎えたばかりのLOUIS VUITTONは、初日である20日(火)の20時30分にショーを開催する予定となっている。(5/25更新)

Kanye West and Virgil Abloh had an internship at FENDI and Kanye collaborated with Louis Vuitton when Marc Jacobs was a creative director. In 2010, Abloh became the artistic director to West’s company, Donda.

Lots of designers are rumored to be a next designer, such as Martin Rose and Kid Super. Finally Louis Vuitton announced Pharrell Williams is the next creative director of Louis Vuitton. He had an experience to design with CHANEL before. His first Louis Vuitton Collection will be reveled in June during the Paris Fashion Week. (Updates February 15th)

The French Haute Couture & Mode Federation has announced the tentative schedule for the Spring/Summer 2024 Paris Men’s Fashion Week, which will be held from June 20th to 25th.
LOUIS VUITTON, which just welcomed Pharrell Williams as its new men’s creative director this February, is scheduled to hold a show on the first day, Tuesday, June 20, at 8:30 pm. (Update 5/25)
