Dunk Low Paris。スニーカーを好きな方なら一度はその名を聞いたことがあるだろう。

Sotheby’sなどのオークションで数千万円を超える金額で落札される、まさにアート級のスニーカーだ。

見た目の美しさはもちろん素晴らしいがなぜこのモデルがここまでの金額に跳ね上がったのだろうか?

こちらのモデルは、2002年にWHITE DUNK展というイベントがパリ、ロンドン、ニューヨーク、そして日本で開催された際にパリで発売されたスニーカーだ。

ベルナール ビュッフェのアート全面に落とし込まれた同モデルは、パリにて200足限定で発売される予定だったがビュッフェの親族からの要望で当日に発売が中止された。その際すでに数十足が販売されており、その数の少なさとアートワークが落とし込まれた美しさも相まって伝説的な一足になった。

It is a truly artistic sneaker that sold in extremely high price at auctions such as Sotheby’s. Why did this model fetch such a high price?

They are of course beautiful to look at, but why did this model fetch such a high price?

These sneakers were released in Paris during the WHITE DUNK exhibition held in Paris, London, New York, and Japan in 2002.

The model, which is fully covered with Bernard Buffet’s art, was supposed to be released in Paris in a limited edition of 200 pairs, but was canceled on the day of the exhibition due to a request from Buffet’s relatives. At the time, several dozen pairs had already been sold, and the small number of pairs, combined with the beauty of the artwork on them, made them a legendary pair.
